Easy Pars

Rory takes the hig…we mean low road.

GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that alway thought it was better at putting than Scottie…until now.

Here’s what we’ve got for you today:

Swanky dinner before going to battle in Rome.

“We’ll miss you, but you’ll miss us more.”

Scottie putts in the work ahead of the Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup black tie kick-off before the next day’s epic golf battle.

One of the coolest things about the Ryder Cup is how ruthless it can be.

Yes, this is the only golf event where you can see that side of pro golf.

Look at how one player celebrates after he beats another to a figurative pulp on the pitch.

It’s awesome.

But before all the action starts taking place, all Ryder Cup players and their significant others are invited to a swanky gala event where all the attendants take some time to wine and dine before they go to battle.

It’s always cool to see the pros hanging out and having fun.

Just take a look at Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica.

However, some people just wished they could skip the formalities and get the show started.

The Ryder Cup not starting until Friday is like when couples have a really long engagement. It’s time to get the show on the road

But then we would miss the number one ranked player being an Instagram husband.

The time has finally arrived and the action is scheduled to start at 1:25 a.m. Eastern.

Seems like Rory still isn’t over the LIV/PGA Tour drama

Now that we know that both LIV and the PGA Tour will eventually be part of the same corporation, even though we have no new official information on it, we can all agree to be somewhat over it.

I mean, yes, it’ll be a big move. But everyone is going to be under the same corporate umbrella, so IMO there’s no point in being sour about it.

Rory, more or less, doesn’t seem like he’s over it though.

When asked by a press reporter how he feels about not having long-time Ryder Cup player, Sergio Garcia, as part of the team, this is what he had to say.

Rory McIlroy has absolutely no class.

He could’ve left it at something along the lines of “We’ll miss them”, or “They’re great players” and leave it at that.

But he didn’t. He got salty.

Seems like he had a bit of a flashback to a few months ago when the LIV-PGA Tour drama was at its highest point.

In all fairness, Rory truly seems to have been emotionally impacted by the whole situation. It even hurt his game.

But maybe it’s time for him to turn the page and move on. Got some advice for you, Rory:

Scottie keeps on working on improving his putting game.

As the world’s number one player for over 50 weeks, you might think that he can take a breather and have the confidence that his skills can get him the W.

Not for Scottie Scheffler. He keeps on working.

Scottie has been seen working with his new coach Phil Kenyon for several weeks now.

In particular, he’s been focusing on his putting game.

Which, to be honest, isn’t terrible. It’s still world class obviously.

But it’s not as breathtakingly awesome as everything else he does on the pitch.

Check out his answer when he’s asked what he’s been doing.

“I was trying to fix it in the complete wrong way.”

Very cool.

I just can’t help but love it when players take the time to answer with absolute detail how they’re working on their technique.

And it’s so massively impressive how the guy who somehow still managed to hold the number one spot for 50 weeks still feels like he’s finally making progress.

Can you just imagine how much better Scottie’s game will be once he gets consistent with his putting too?

Meme of the Day

😂😂

Scottie Scheffler be like:

That’s all we’ve got for today. We’re going to go get a nap so we can be awake to watch the Ryder Cup.

Later gator,

E.
