GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that forgot to tell you what the newsletter is about, last Thursday 😂. Sorry about that.
Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
Bees attack 🐝
Back-to-back Ws and a massive paycheck
Koepka’s big break
Speaking of breaks, PGA is exhausting
This is the stuff nightmares are made of
Imagine a huge swarm of bees heading your way.
A literal cloud of bees so big that you can’t outrun it.
You can’t hide from it.
All you can do is hit the floor and hope for the best.
No, this isn’t National Geographic, or even the plot of a horror movie.
This is exactly what happened at the Mexico Open when Erik Van Rooyen was getting ready to tackle the 10th hole at Vidanta.
Understandably, Van Rooyen was quite shaken up by the incident and missed the green in his approach shot.
No one was stung or suffered any injuries from the cloud of bees.
This hardly ever happens, you know. It’s kind of like getting attacked by a shark.
But what if it happens to you next time you’re out on the course?
Speaking of the Mexico Open
The Mexico Open showed Rahm back in form, after his Master’s win. However, he couldn’t take down the champion — Tony Finau.
In the end, it was a masterful display of talent. After all, last year’s Mexico Open ended up Rahm/Finau in the 1 and 2 spots. Really great repeat rivalry with a different result.
A few hours after winning $1.3 million? He was out caddying for his kids.
TONY FINAU IS OUT HERE CADDYING FOR HIS KIDS RIGHT AFTER HIS WIN ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Talor Gooch gets back-to-back W’s
Talor Gooch is the first defending LIV champion after getting the W in Singapore.
Talor was being chased down by seemingly everyone during the initial rounds. Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, and Cam Smith were laying down the pressure up to the second round.
But from that point on, only Gooch, Garcia, and Koepka kept at it.
Ultimately, in a super close wrap-up, Gooch was able to take the win from Garcia and take home the $4 Million prize.

Gooch’s team, the Range Coats GC, also won. Bringing home an extra $3 million to split up between the team.
Talor must surely be patting himself in the back for moving over to LIV and making over $8 Million in prize money in under a month.
Sometimes you just get a break
Most of the time, players just can’t get a break and are forced to take horrible less than ideal shots.
The rules are the rules.
But every now and then, the odds swing in their favor, and they get an unusually favorable rule decision.
That’s what happened to Brooks Koepka at Sentosa Golf Club this past weekend during LIV’s Singapore stop.
His lucky break was over 150 yards.
Koepka hit a shot into the trees. However difficult, there seemed to be a shot out of it.
But it was blocked by some spectator facilities. You know, tents, porta-potties, and such. So he took it up with the tournament officials and ended up with an incredibly favorable drop.
According to Feherty (commentating) it was about 200 club lengths of far-giveness.
The rules are the rules…I guess?
Meanwhile the other golfers to Koepka:
McIlroy is not missing the Wells Fargo Championship
Rory McIlroy, currently ranked number 3, is making sure to not miss out on the upcoming Wells Fargo Championship.
Since this would be his third miss of a designated event, he would likely receive another $3million+ slap on the wrist for not fulfilling his Player Impact Earnings.
So it makes sense that he would confirm his participation.
Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are sitting this one out.
But since it’s the first designated event they won’t participate in, they’re A-OK and won’t be fined.
Rory, when asked why he’s been missing so many events:
It will be interesting to see in what shape Rory comes back after a not-so-great Masters and having a bit of a break.
Meme of the Day
😂😂 Happy (belated) Birthday to the Legend, John Daly!
That’s it for today, golf fans. Look out for Thursday’s issue for a rundown of the Wells Fargo Championship as well as the latest LIV hijinks!
